Join YWCA Kaua’i and distinguished guests on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 12 – 1:30 pm for a virtual panel discussion, “From Declarations to Change: Addressing Racism as a Public Health Crisis.”

  • Dr. Puanani Hee, PhD, Clinical Psychologist for the State of Hawai’i Department of Health’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division at the Kaua’i Family Guidance Center
  • Dr. Andrea Hermosura, PhD, Psychologist at Paradigm Hawai’i Counseling, Inc. and Assistant Professor at UH Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine
  • Blanca Gil Lopez, MPH, MS, Public Health Educator at the Kaua’i District Health Office

We will discuss the connections between racism and public health outcomes, how to implement public health practices to effectively identify and address racial injustice in our communities, and community engagement and public policy strategies to advance racial equity through a public health lens.
