We invite you to join YWCA Allentown, YWCA Bethlehem, Shanthi Project, Allentown NAACP, Bethlehem NAACP, and the Lehigh Valley community for a virtual panel “From Declarations to Change: Addressing Racism as a Public Health Crisis” on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm EST on Zoom.

Come listen to those who are involved in public health, learn about how racial justice and equity is centered in their work, and what you can do to support these efforts.

This panel is part of YWCA USA’s 15th annual Stand Against Racism campaign where we raise awareness about the impact of institutional and structural racism while fostering community among those who work for racial justice. Structural racism plays a large role in determining the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age. These factors affect people’s access to quality housing, education, food, transportation, political power, and other social determinants of health. Understanding and addressing systemic racism from this public health perspective is crucial to eliminating racial and ethnic inequities, and to improving opportunity and well-being across communities.

Our collective efforts can root out injustice, transform institutions, and create a world that sees women, girls, and people of color the way we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.

We look forward to being in community with you!
