Food Daze; A Fresh Produce Drive-Thru Event

YWCA Tulsa is on a mission. We hope to eliminate racism, empower women, promote peace, freedom, dignity, and justice for all. That mission begins in our communities, helping those in need. According to Feeding America, every ONE in SEVEN Oklahomans are struggling with hunger. That same statistic states ONE in FIVE children struggle from hunger, and nearly 90 thousand people have food insecurities. That’s why YWCA Tulsa is dedicating one of its Stand Against Racism days to help distribute fresh produce to areas to food deserts that exist in our community. We will be providing fresh produce, vouchers to the Greenwood Farmers Market and gift cards to the Oasis grocery store.  

This act is will not solve the larger problem, but it’s a necessary step in the right direction to begin address the food deserts that should not exist in our community.
