YWCA Tulsa acknowledges there is a public health crisis across the nation. This year we have dedicated our Stand Against Racism events and campaign to recognizing the racial justice issues that impact the health and safety of communities of color.

On April 23rd YWCA Tulsa in partnership with Sun People Yoga will be hosting a moving meditation for our Tulsa BIPOC community. This restorative yoga series will be designed to help relieve BIPOC trauma rooted in decolonizing the stigmas around yoga practices and empowering a healing journey triggered by racial trauma.

This space will be a time to use restorative yoga poses and meditation practices to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. This will benefit our BIPOC community who may be struggling with mental or physical trauma caused by racial trauma, economic disparities, Covid-19 and more.

Racism strongly impacts the public health and safety outcomes of communities of colors and YWCA Tulsa would like to be intentional about creating and carving out spaces to educate, advocate, and promote racial justice.
